My car snuffed it when MOT-ed and the repairs would be too costly, so I was on the look out for a new car. I saw on Ian Guthrie's website he had a a nice Ford Fiesta, so I decided to go for a look. Considering the circumstance of the economy, the rise of car prices, and my own wallet, the car was reasonable priced. Ian was very friendly and put me right at ease. He took his time with me to go through the specifications, and he gave me honest advice about the car, the current situation about diesels and their way out (my old car was diesel), and finances. And he was so kind to take my old car off my hands for a sum, which has be put towards the new car. His service is wonderful. He or his staff members are going to bring the car to my house next week, after it has been serviced, MOT and cleaned. Something that most car sales companies wouldn't do so easily. Or at least I never came across one who would do this service.I hope the car will live a good long life without too many problems. It is always a gamble to buy a second hand car, but I do get a good feeling that I may get a few good years yet from this car. So far so good.
Got my girlfriend a car from here and had a few problems with it the week after the sale, but ian and his team were very kind and worked fast to get the problems fixed at there own cost, can't thank them enough.Would highly recommend
Ian has sourced several cars for us (including two hi spec Rovers). His attention to quality, servicing and customer satisfaction is second to none in Angus. His garage and showroom are immaculate and he will do his best to find you the car you need at the price you want. The fact that customers come from Ireland and the Orkneys to get cars from him is testimony to the service he provides. Absolutely recommended.
After seeing a vehicle advertised that seemed to tick all our boxes we called in at Ian Guthrie's garageand were immediately put at our ease by a member of the sales team who showed us around the motor home without fuss or any of the pressure. We arranged a further visit for a test drive and this time after giving a detailed tour, Ian Guthrie gave us time to look over the vehicle. Following on from the drive we struck a deal. After making a deposit Ian did not request any further payment until all the agreed servicing and prep work had been completed. On the day of collection we were blown away by the care, time and attention lavished on our new motorhome, it looked like new. Before we left the forecourt Ian demonstrated that every single feature worked as it should and we drove home delighted and confident with our new purchase. Would not recommend. If you have a mechanic friend ask for them to be allowed to check the car you are considering buying.
